Not real sure, I kinda bought the car with the mods. I just went back out for another test drive and I was able to hit vtec ok, but idle seemed to be a tad low.

Need more information on your setup.

Engine management? Pulley size? Injectors? Test Pipe? Exhaust?

One potential bad scenario:
You're running lean already, when you hit VTEC you have an even leaner spike. With the lower octane fuel, more chance of detonation. You have a lean misfire at VTEC and your ECU (if you're OEM) pulls timing and you feel bogging.

Check your CEL for the code. It might be a misfire code.

Please tell me you checked the CEL code before you went flogging the engine again.

Why do people post questions and not provide information on there set up?
