Default Car last night started running lean as hell

Well last night i noticed the car was fine. Let it cool down. Now I press the start button and does not even crank the engine. It was running fine besides the fact that the engine went into lean mode earlier. Its not the battery because everything turns on and I checked it already. Can someone give me a few pointers on what else to check before I have to get a flat bed to Speed Clinic.

Spark plugs??? Injectors??? Starter??? hmmmm.... help! I just got my new tranny in and now this!

BTW I did check the spark plug coils and #3 WAS loose but besides that... thats it. I tightened it back up but who knows what it can be.

What does it do when you hit the start button, Its either battery, starter,or a bad wire somewere.

Might be dead battery if it's not cranking.

If yo uare running an AEM then your acc's will work but your car may not crank if voltage is to low. If yo uhave a decent turbo timer turn the key on and go to voltage mode and see where it is resting. If its below 11 you may have issues.

When did you just do the tranny service?

Check your essentials first being check the battery voltage. Not sure if you have access to tools and what not but there is a wire going to your starter and its a female connecor with a black rubber boot around it on the starter motor closest to the front of the car. (Starter motor is buried under the throttle body right where the engine meets the transmission. This wire is a PITA to get to but it is the trigger to your starter to start so check that this didnt fall off because it is a royal pain in the butt to install so it could have been partially seated as it has to come off to remove the starter when removing the tranny.

Worst comes and your sure that everything else on your car is fine and mechanically sound you could get a few friends to get you to try bump starting the car at least to get it to your shop....

if by "not cranking" you mean the starter doesn't even turn over the motor then that's an electrical issue not really a motor issue. start with your battery, if that's fine then maybe your starter or starter solenoid took a dump. or it could be a relay, get the shop manual and follow the flowchart for the starting system.

Just throwing an idea out there to check, I had a similar issue last week with my car. Suddenly started running super lean out of nowhere. Turned out that the primary O2 sensor started reading bad (it might be dead, havent determined yet) so in closed loop it just kept pulling out more and more fuel trying to fix a 'rich' condition that wasn't really there.

So, check O2 sensor or maybe disable closed loop if you can. I have Kpro and it allows you to turn closed loop off for tuning, so that fixed it for me until I can get O2 sensor replaced.

Good luck,
J
