Default In Car Video from the Track

Ok, so I think I am going to give the track a rest for a little bit, had some pretty bad wheel hop, as you will see in the 1st video. The first run I had I thought it would be mid 13s, just didn't feel that great, bogged off the line. As my luck would have it, it was my best run to date (did better on 2nd run). After doing some runs I sat and watched the other cars go and it made me realize how fast our Turbo S2000's are. I was watching Mustangs/ Camaros, M3's,Grand Nationals, Suburus etc all run mid 12's, high 13's at low MPH with like 1.7 60 fts, lol. A lot of people came up to me and where really impressed and said how much they love S2000s, I wish I could just do a better job of getting this thing down the track. I had 4 runs, 12.0, 12.0, 11.8, 11.7, so pretty consistent. Every time I go I do better, so thats a good sign. (I cut the night short because the car seemed to start breaking up in boostaround 4,000 RPMS, momentarily I am not sure why, plugs were replaced right before I went down to track, seems to do it randomly, maybe heat soak?, I dunno)

My Best run of the night (not on Video)

R/T..................512
60'..................1.968
330..................5.311
1/8..................7.856
MPH..................98.75
1000.................9.997

ET...................11.770
MPH..................130.37

2nd Best

2.064..................60ft

E/T...................11.824
MPH...................132.96

3rd Best (Wheel hop)

Ran a 12.000 @ 123MPH, despite wheel hop, still had 2.09 60'

Damn surprised you didn't kill the diff! Mine cracked every tooth on the pinion by doing pretty much the exact same thing! What tires are you running? You could probably benefit from getting more heat in the tires/a longer burnout.

Yea, it blows because they make you go through the water box, yet there is barely any water, so I did not want to grenaded the Diff, so burnouts where weak. I am running the M/T 255/50 R16's I did get a decent burnout for the 11.7 run. I changed the Diff Fluid and Tranny fluid right before I went, and noticed ZERO metal flakes from last few times at the track, so thats a good sign, the pre-loading with the E-brake is much easeir on the diff (sucks for 60' time though)

Yeah I hear ya. I finally got all the components to install the line locks on my car (S2k needs two if using ABS). I'm hoping this way I can load up the rear end and get a solid burnout without shocking the drivetrain too much. I have the same drag radials on my AP1 wheels ready to go so we'll see what happens in another month or so!

Do it man, it's cool to have a little 4 banger and be one of the faster cars. I just can't imagine how much more fun it would be with a Ford 8.8 rear and V160

PS. Bone stock brand new 5.0 ran 12.2, pretty awesome

Definately, it's a ton of fun. Nothing like having 1.5sec reaction time and still reeling and walking a brand new M3, legally and way more safe than street racing
