If I am not mistaken, the Hardtopguy Clutch Kit should be able to handle 400whp! I'm using it right now at 358whp with no problems.

why would you want to use the oem disc with the hardtop guy setup instead of the act street disc that normally comes packaged with their clutch?

I'm actually using the ACT PP & OEM disc right now. So I really just need the clutch and possibly a flywheel.

I'm using the stock pressure plate and flywheel along with an inlinePRO 6 puck ceramic disk. Its been holding up fine with 380WHP and inline used the same setup that was good up to around 500WHP. The OEM disk is the weak link because the material isn't up to the job. Clutch pedal pressure is just like stock because it is! Just have to learn to modulate the gas and clutch to get it to start off smooth. I would compare the engagement close to the Clutchmasters Stage 4.

I'm no expert, but I was under the impression that 6-pucks weren't streetable. Is that not the case?

Really? Hmm, that's strange, as I had searched about this before right here on S2KI, and it was the general consensus that it was the pressure plate that was the weak link in the drivetrain, and not the clutch disk. This is the first time I've heard of a setup or a claim like this, so forgive my skepticism.

The Hardtopguy clutch kit uses an OEM disk because the one that usually comes with the ACT is just a relabeled OEM piece...at least that's what I've been told. So it doesn't matter if you use an OEM disk or an ACT disk with the kit...they're both OEM disks anyways. Come to think of it, I recall one of the other ACT kits (the one for the 93 Integra, in particular) used an OEM disk along with a stronger ACT-designed pressure plate. That kit held up just fine.

I did some research on this before, and from what I remember reading it was believed that the weak link was the pressure plate. Supposedly the OEM disk worked fine upwards of 350+ HP if I'm not mistaken.

I am personally using the Hardtopguy kit (OEM disk, ACT pressure plate, Comptech flywheel) and I have NO complaints whatsoever...it's held up just fine under boost, and it's not rough at all to drive on the street.
