Default Clutch Choice

Need some help deciding what clutch to use. I am getting a inline pro rear end at the moment and want to upgrade the clutch so I can lunch the car properly. Fernando@kings can get me a cc twin plate but I'm just wondering what it is like for daily driving, hill starts and around town. I use to have a hks twin plate on my R33 gtr and that was a pig to use so don't want to be back there again(I did hear hks twins were bad). I will be running about 450whp (supercharged) once done so not massive power. I just want something that will last, do the job, take the abuse and can be used on the street as the car will be 95% street car. I don't want to have to be coming back to re do the clutch again in 5k miles as its worn out.

If you have any other recommendations please say!

Thanks in advance

Matt

i've driven an evo with a carbonetics twin plate and that was very easy to drive. i would like to eventually get that. my car at the moment has a spec stage 3+ and it was very touchy at first but it is not too bad now... the carbonetics was still easier to drive though.

I'm curious, where are you taking the car for lunch? In all seriousness with those goals an ACT HD Pressure plate with OEM disk will be plenty. Drives like stock and can handle any torque your SC will throw at it.

I have a comp twin, check out my thread, I hosed it in under 5000 miles of street driving, ZERO launches/powershifts (or any hard driving for that matter)

Whether or not that is "normal" we're going to find out, but remember, most of the twins aren't designed with any sort of street driving/slipping in mind.

Good idea. No need to swap. I make 300wtq on a disc clutch. Holds fine. Don't swear it until it lets go which will prolly be a long time from now.
