Default Clutch Inquiry Before Purchase

Hey guys, been looking at clutches for my KW kit. Been looking for a decently priced clutch and flywheel kit for the car. I've been looking at a couple of brands, mainly ACT, SoS, Competition, and Clutch Masters. Searched and couldn't find anything relevant to my needs.

-Somewhat cheap
-Good for daily driving
-Holds 250+ lbs tq

Aside from that, SoS seems to have a decent setup... but still waiting on a price from them. Any suggestions on a decent kit? I'd like to spend less than $800~, the competition kit comes in at $695 for the clutch and flywheel (not sure if this comes with a release, pilot bearing, and alignment tool though). Any suggestions are helpful, appreciate it guys!

I just had a Competition 1620 with AP1 flywheel installed. I'm loving it so far. Only about 200 miles on it so far, so about halfway through break in. My kit came with the bearing, alignment tool, etc.

I was considering the SoS kit, which was my first choice, but they were out of stock at the time that I ordered.

My Competition 1620 is difficult to daily drive for me, it feels on/off. I don't feel like there's a middle ground. You cant really ease up or rock forward in traffic like stock. I have about 600 miles on it so far. I don't hate it, Its just nowhere near as nice as the reviews I thought I read on daily driving with it. That and if you're really not paying attention and have a passenger you look like a fool who's never driven stick. Car jerks if you're not careful coming from a stop light. Annoying but it could just be me.

I LOVE my Clutchmasters Stage 3 w/ Clutchmasters Flywheel.

350HP/220TQ and it drives like stock. The pedal is lighter than stock and there is a good middle ground.

I have the Competition Clutch 1620 installed, I'm at 250tq. It holds well. Engagement took some getting used to, but I'm at about 600 miles with it and 2-6 shifts are smooth as butter now. Takeoff from 1st is still a little choppy sometimes.

My complaint with the clutch is that it's very noisy. But from what I understand, all aftermarket (and of course AP1 OEM clutches) are noisy. I had the infamous clutch buzz on my AP1's, the Competition is even louder than that though.

If I were you I'd get the SOS one, I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll be taking a look into the clutches a bit more when I get home.
