Clutch Install with Vortech S/C
Hey there,
I just got finished up installing my Vortech supercharger and was saving the clutch for last. I started to realize that the crossmember might make the clutch install pretty tough with the supercharger unit as close as it is.
Have anyone done a clutch install with a Vortech or SOS supercharger in place?
Thanks

People have reported that they've done it, though it was unclear if they dropped the subframe, which makes the job a lot less time-consuming.
I think if you have to drop the subframe, there's no room for the blower to lower due to the cross member. Really, removing the SC isn't that time consuming.

Take your time, you'll have plenty of room just keep your eye out for it as you lower, for me it was the valve cover was hitting the firewall before the supercharger hit the crossbeam.
Plenty of room..
Yes it can be done at least with a Vortech . I did one for a friend a few years back . The charger does rest against the brace though . I padded it and it worked out ok . It was harder than normal as i couldn't drop the engine as low as i usually do . I think it's best to spend 15 minutes and remove the blower . This way there's no chance of damaging things . The SOS charger is much easier to remove than the Vortech unit so that would be a no brainer .
