CLUTCH OPINIONS
Hey guys
Im just wondering what aftermarket clutches you guys are running in your FI S2000's.
I have a stage 4 CC and although I was initially impressed the clutch has not lived up to the high standard I had heard about.
I did mate a lightweight Mfactory flywheel with the CC stage 4 and Im not sure whether that could be a problem.I've heard thats its best to use same manufacturers flywheel!
Ive done 20000km with the clutch and im just not happy with it.
1)Its lost its bite, im struggling to launch the car like I use to be able to to.
2) You can hardly ride the clutch at all. You ride it once or twice and then I hear this grating noise when riding it a little on a hill which cant be good!!
3) When changing the shifter quickly its starting to grate the gears now and then!
4) When changing at high revs like 9000rpm, the clutch on odd occassion does not release smoothly.
I have recently changed the transmission fluid so I know the grating is not from fluid. So im convinced the clutch is causing a problem.
I know its a performance clutch but hell man its making my driving unpleasant.
I met a dude with a Spec clutch I think stage 2 or 3 and I drove it and it was damn good. Smooth and easy
Pls share your thought and recommendations. I need to go with at least a stage 3.
Either I replace the flywheel and try that or just go with an entirely new setup (clutch and fly).

AT the moment im na. And that worries me even more cause if im having problems now when I go FI its gonna be a major issue.
Car going in next month for Turbo. We lowering compression so only aiming for 350hp. The quality of fuel here is not sufficient to run stock compression when going Turbo.
So im playing it safe. Im thinking Spec stage 2 at the moment. Heard good things about SOS too. But Spec has been around alot longer and much bigger reputation.

you have so many choices with only 350whp aim. i cant believe someone told you to go puck. THAT IS RETARDED.
clutchmasters stage 2 or 3
sos sport clutch
act setup
act disk and oem pressureplate
take your pick. only choose a disc clutch. puck is for 350-400wtq+

Ill definately look into clutchmasters
i just havent heard enough about them in the s2k world. when i had a vw everyone ran spec. for the s2k, i dont hear there name too often. thats the only reason i didnt vote that one a go.
Funny though my mate just had the stage 1 SPEC fitted to his S2K and its awesome.Drove it this morning The stage 2 holds torque capacity of 399 so if its anything like the stage 1 it will be a winner.
