Default Cold Air Intake

I've just receieved my turbo kit and im going to install it sometime next week. I been looking around and theres a few arguements about CAI on a turbo. Some say its more effecient because cooler to begin the compression, some says its not because turbo just compresses and heats it right back up. Is it really better? Or just focus on the after-cooling?

Would a long intake path increase the lag?

which turbo kit? I can't see how it would contribute to lag... you AIT would be lower, so you would probably gain a few HP dependent on the normal location...

I have one on mine, not sure if theres a HP diff, but im sure it helps the life of the turbo if you atleast put a filter on the turbo.

Yeah me too, seems your IC wouldnt be efficient if not cooling.

its more around town stuff that the IAT's decrease the most! Stop and go traffic was the biggest change in temps, sometimes even 50 degrees difference! The temps also returned to pre-stopping temps much sooner with the intake! When i re-routed the coolant from the TB and IACV, the temps decreased even more! I was very surprised with the changes in temps!

I highly doubt that running a cold air intake on a turbo would help very much if at all. If you think about it, the compressor is going to compress and heat up the air to a specific temperature no matter what the intake air going in is. Your most efficient and effective cooling on a boosted vehicle will always be after the charged air, not before. Don't waste your time.....

Why would you say that? Seems to me that the compressor is going to release X amount of heat into the air, which will increase the current air temp Y amount. If you start out with lower incoming air, you will end up will lower outgoing air. I don't see the compressed air being the same temp no matter what the incoming air is.
