Maybe using the sot kit and putting a twin screw in there with an air-air aftercooler would be most cost-effective though.

James at SOT was the one with any left over parts for kit making. Its all off the shelf stuff except for the TB, the mounting plate for the SC, and the dummy throttle body. I will look through my instructions and see if there is a good pic of the mounting plate, it is a nice piece of ingenuity but probably not too hard to fabricate something similiar for a twin screw.

If it works, keep everybody posted. I might even be interested if I keep the car (although twin screws looked expensive). My plan is too drive mine for another summer and swap for a Cayman but I won't be parting out the kit, just selling it (the car) as a whole. I have yet to drive a Cayman and maybe if it does not seem to be as great as I want it to be I will keep the honda because it is a ton of fun (for me at least) with the roots setup, but I have had the car for 8 years and kind of want to change things up.

Neptuner your kit must have been one of the development kits or something. My intercooler radiator is only the size of the fan itself. Instead of covering the whole front grille opening, it fits perfectly between the two middle verticle slats of the ap1. Stealthier look but less coolant volume and probably greater chance to heatsoak if tracked I would guess.

Yep, I believe I got the third beta kit. Still running strong with about 40k miles so far.

I have a company in arizona that is thinking about a cold-side eaton kit for our car that would be carb legal. They have a carb legal kit for the miata currently. But I also have a company in canada that I'm talking with that is famous for a twin screw kit for the cobalt ss, that is interested in doing a twin screw for our car...so we'll see what I do on this or I might just work with them.

It would be nice but don't hold out too much hope. There was a lot of interest in the SOT kit but I don't think they sold very many when the time came to put up cash. Since the car is out of production and has about a dozen FI options already, the market for a new kit is limited. If someone wanted to go through the carb process they would lose their shirt on getting it carb legal with the money they would make back in sales.

I think your best option is custom work, unless a shop that does custom work wants to do just a few kits for some interested folks. From following the development of a full kit when SOT was doing it, it takes time and money. A cold side kit would have to have a whole new manifold engineered, that aint cheap.

I was in the market for an SOT kit but missed the window. It would be great to see someone else bring something to market. It wouldn't be a terrible idea for them to get in touch with SOT to see if they can license/buy what's already been developed.
