Default Cometic thickness help

Cometic offers the 89mm in their HP version which should be the right one for me (as opposed to the regular MLS one). I have 9.5:1 pistons going in to the block and would like to keep that compression. Which thickness would be correct? 0.040"?

I assume you want normal thickness. Isn't that about 0.97mm?
