compression ratio
Newbie here, I'm getting ready to send my engine in for a rebuild (scored#4). I want to go turbo (Greddy Turbo Kit) after the engine break in period ~500-1000miles. My main question is which ratio to rebuild the shortblock for: 11:1 (factory), 9.5:1, or 9.0:1 (from S2KI forums)?... thanks
The Greddy is a fairly mild setup and is designed for stock compression. I'm not sure if it can be produce enough boost efficiently to warrant lower compression.
If I was in your situation I would go for the Inline Kit instead.

Guys, thanks for the suggestions... I have a budget of ~4000 for a turbo kit, ~4000 for the shortblock rebuild, and ~1000 for tuning.
Will a 9:1 ratio shortblock with a Greddy kit get me close to the 280-300whp? if not then how much $$ am I looking to spend to get 280-300whp from a turbo kit (Inline, Lovefab, etc...). Not looking for a Monster whp. Or will a 10:1 ratio shortblock as Dsgs2k3 suggested with Greddy kit get me close to 280-300whp?
Thanks in advance for all comments and/or suggestions

The price difference is ~1500 for a sleeved rebuild (ratio?) -v- factory shortblock. The question is which one will suit best for mild boost to reach a goal of 280-300whp for DD? If it is a factory replacement then what year to order for '00 chassis?... thanks
