That's just silly expensive for and s/c. I'd go turbo instead.

I think comptech is getting greedy IMO, raised prices 2x last year alone?? I wish some other companies would develop a S/C for this car and destroy their semi-monopoly.

Prices will come down when the new FI options will be released from BRP and Jackson Racing. Until then, they're trying to milk to consumers.

Search and you'll find the BRP thread.

Check out stageonetuning.com, then go to the S2000 forum page. This is an Eaton MP62 based kit, should be badass for the S. The blower is on the "hot" side of the motor, allowing AA intercooler.
Also fastforwardsuperchargers.com, and there is an S2000 page in the "miata forums". Another MP62 PD kit on the way. This one is coldside and uses a 5th injector for evaporative charge cooling. Advantages/disadvantages for both of course.
Jackson Racing is coming with a Rotrex based SC, Greddy and a turbo kit on the way, and Axial Flow is developing a jet-type blower/compressor (someone please provide a more accurate description of Axial's).
Not to mention the exsiting kits, which would be nice if someone could list those here.
The 2006 S2000, being drive-by-wire, is probably Comptech's excuse for their new level of rapery.
