Default Comptech Boost Problem!

Hi guys,

I switched from turbo to SC this week, but I have some sort of boost problem that I can't figure out.

I have low comprasion pistons on my car with standart head gasket.

I can only boost 9psi (0.6bar).

Due to overheating I revomed aftercooler and installed intercooler.

My question is, how can I increase the boost pressure?

Here is my setup.

AP2
Comptech SC / Standart pulley
Intercooler
DC Headers
Fcon pro
680cc RC
Wiseco Pistons

Thanks,

Emircan.

you will need a smaller pulley to up the boost. it looks at though everything else is good to go. you have larger injectors and management so there should not be an issue. by the way, you will lose more boost with an intercooler setup than you will with an aftercooler. why was it overheating?

what compression are you running?

standard pulley is only good for 5psi, and 7psi if you use the AP2 pulley on an AP1.

to increase boost, you'll need a smaller pulley(the one attached to the blower itself) you'll also need a new belt.

today my shop told me that i can't use small pulley without proper belt therefore they made a bigger or smaller crank pulley to make comptech more boost but i still dont agree with them what can this comptech max boosts with intercooler setup

yes, if you use a smaller pulley you will need a shorter belt to keep the tension the same.

there is no limitations to boosting with an intercooler - just be prepared to see less boost at the manifold than if you were running without it.

Wouldn't buying a smaller pulley and belt be cheaper then custom fab'ing a new pulley?

http://scienceofspeed.com/products/engine_...000_SC_pulleys/

I've heard that the Comptechs (Novi 1000) are good for about 55,000 rpms and anything over takes it out of its efficiency range. I'm not sure how the calculations are made..

you'll have to upgrade the pulley to compensate for the lost boost when your running an intercooler... im running the aftercooler so from what ive heard thats what you have to do so im waitn to do a stage 2 upgrade and intercooler at the same time

FIRST OF ALL, HIS CAR IS AN 2.0

IT IS AN AP2 CAR WITH AN F20 ENGINE IN IT SO HE HAS AN AP1 CRANK PULLEY ON THE CAR.

TAKE MY ADVISE, GO OVER THE INSTALLATION PROCESS AGAIN SEE IF THE SHOP DID EVERYTHING RIGHT. IF YOU HAVE THE AFTERCOOLER, PUT IT ON THE CAR RATHER THAN THE INTERCOOLER. PUT THE STOCK CRANK PULLEY AN THE CAR, AND GET A NEW ASP PULLEY AND GATOR BELT. I'LL GET THEM FOR YOU.

BTW, MENTION THAT YOU MADE 220-240WHP WITH 9PSI ON THE DYNO. YOU GOTTA FIX THAT BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE
