Don't you already have the ESM on the car. The blower has been on the car for years.
In any case, all wiring should be soldered. Comptechs seem to be very suseptible to crimped connections (high failure rate).

I know, I guess I have an "early" kit...I found out today that I do not have it!

So basically should I cut off all the connectors that comptech supplies and solder/heat shink all the connections that I connect?

After talking to Shad today, he assured me that the ESM was a "required" piece to have on my setup...I really didn't like the idea of that little white "check valve"...

that's funny that Shad says it's "required" but then proceeds to sell it to you (or did he give it to you?)....... shouldn't it be included as part of your guinea pig fee

The "early" Comptech's used a missing link check valve to Hide boost form the PCM. Comptech later started using the ESM with all of the SC kits. The ESM's do the job better, with no strange driveability issues like the check valve.

Suggest that you purchase a harness for the esm connection and splice the harness wires rather than the ecu wires. I regret not doing the same with my vortech setup.

I was under the impression Comptech used the Mising link sourced check valve. Either way, they haven't sold a SC with the check valve setup in quite some time.

As far as your install do yourself a favor and remove your drivers seat so you can really slide up under the dash and solder the connections unless you can source a vtecfrog ( Jakers ) harness then you can make your connections sitting at a table then just plug in the extension cable. the ESM and the Fuel Pump were the hardest parts of the comptech install as far as I was concerned

I finished the ESM installation tonight, it wasn't hard at all, the only "tricky" part of the installation was trying to get into that corner to properly connect those short wires!!!

The final result:

Car runs MUCH smoother and there are NO hesitations whatsoever in high RPM...I am glad that I took Shad's advice on the ESM, definitely money well spent!
