Default Comptech filter cover

What year did Comptech change from have a indention for the hood prop to the cut-out? Is there an advantage to one or the other?

Pics of both would be appreciated!

Thanks

Dang it man. I was looking at some pics and saw that the lids are different. I don't think the one I bought from you will fit my box. Oh well, I'll either resell it, or make it work. Thanks again.

no. The indentation came out after many people didn't like the fact they had to modify the stock hood prop.

^^didn't know that, since i never had this installed on my car. i have a friend that has the indented one and it is much easier to put his hood prop in than in the ones with the slots. it also looks much, much nicer. how exactly do you have to modify the hood prop?

gotta cut a tab off the prop so it'll clear the opening.

Mine rattles though cuz it barely touches metal tab where the plastic stay is for the hood prop. I just ground down just a smidge (~ 1mm) off the cover to clear the tab. I saw where it was rubbing on the metal tab.

The hood prop was a PITA.

Go with hood dampers and remove the prop. You'll love it!
