Default Comptech FPR... car not firing up as quick

just wondering if anyone else has this issue, since I installed my Comptech FPR car doesnt fire up as quickly , theres a second more of hesitation. Im guessing since its going through the FPR now it doesnt have the same amount of pressure as stock. Fuel guage does read around 40+ psi during idle which I think is normal and the car does start up fine. Anyone else notice a slight hesitation during fire up?

Never noticed this hesitation for the last 6 years of running this kit with the CT FMU. Car has always started up like stock until the dead my battery died.

now that I think about it, it was doing it before I had the FPR rebuilt also....so thats the only thing that could be causing it.

43psi is stock idle pressure, but 40 wouldnt likely be an issue. I dont think it is related to the fpr unless not all your lines are correctly installed. I assume you have your vaccum line installed from the fpr with a good hose that is not leaking allowing vaccum to escape, and properly tied into your manifold?

On a seperate note, typically your fuel pressure needs to be above stock in the 55-60psi range at idle to run proper safe fueling in the upper rpm range. You are likely running too lean.

You had the fpr rebuilt? What was wrong with it? With any luck the same weight spring was replaced.

I'm going to have to zip tie those hoses just to make sure they arent leaking. I was running lean when I had the belt on my supercharger and thats why I had the FPR rebuilt, it wasnt making a difference when we were adjusting it. Comptech said it didnt pass the bench test when tehy flowed it. Right now I dont have the belt on I just hooked up the FPR to see how it runs. I think when comptech sends it out after a rebuild, it is set to run on a stock car for stock pressure and at idle its right around 43 psi like you said

I know how to adjust it but right now I'm not running any boost since my belt isnt on so I should be ok. Once I get the belt on Ill be hitting the dyno the same day to make sure my a/f is right on. Thanks for the input though it should be good info for a lot of people also.

forgot to also mention I am running the whinny walbro pump lol

its due to the extra lines that the fuel has to run through before it actually gets to the rail. prime the car twice before starting it and see if it goes away.
