Default Comptech Pulley?

I damaged my comptech crank pulley during removal and I am now faced with sourcing a new one. Comptech wants $125 to exchange a stock pulley for the tapped one.

A local machine shop could tap the pulley for about half of that. However, I am not sure if comptech does anything special to the stock pulley? Is it just 6 tapped holes or is it further treated?

No, they just tap it. Just have the machine shop drill and tap it for you. Remember Comptech also wants a 400 deposit on the pulley too.

Ya, the 400 deposit made me cry. THanks for the info!

I drilled and tapped a coworker's Comptech SC pulley using a transfer punch and a drill press.

A machine shop doing the same isn't a bad deal to me.
