Default comptech s/c @22psi

hello everyone

today we did some road tuning with AEM ems 1052u and the car finally runs great
we were seeing constantly 15,5 psi @ 8900 rpm which is what i was expecting to see, but after some runs up to 9100rpm we were hitting 22psi.

now aem reads constantly 22psi @ 9100

any ideas of why is this happening ?

Iono, but i don't think the CTSC can even get to 22psi.

Abs Pressure = Gauge pressure + Atm Pressure

its been a long time and i have to check it out.
but its the size that was always giving me 15 psi and defenately not 22psi.
i think that comptech can produce around 15psi max with the smalest pulley that you can practicaly mount on . thats the one that i have

Its a 3 inch pulley

is Abs a reading that you can have on the aem?
the thing is that we didnt changed anything concerning the boost reading, and suddently we see 22 psi

do you think that i have to worry about my engine ?

I don't know his exact location but atmospheric pressure is ~15psi. If he has a 7psi pulley then gauge pressure would be 7psi and 15+7 = 22psi which is right on the mark

I believe there was another thread about this, the AEM EMS does read absolute pressure and NOT gauge pressure.

Not to mention, there is no physical way the SC could create that much boost anyway, it would self-destruct way before it was producing 22psi

Check my reply above.

There is no way the SC just started producing 22psi rather then, say, 7psi. Its physically impossible due to the design of a supercharger.
