Default Comptech S/C airbox question

Is this the new style comptech airbox with the cutout for the hood prop rod? Or is the new version the one where there is a white clip for the prop rod on it?

If so when did they start phasing out the style with the white hood prop clip on it?

All of the current Comptech air lids come precut to let the hood prop get to the factory clip...

I'm not exactly sure when they discontinued the "old" style (with the white clip on top)...but I could've sworn those were discontinued a few years back...not too many Comptech S/C'd S2000s running around with those anymore...

2001 to early 2002 was when the contoured lids stopped.
In early 2002 they made the new airbox for the CAI and upgraded the SC ones to match.

The early boxes have a countoured top, and are a different shape than the later ones. comptech has also switched box material a few times. Going from fiberglass, to roto-molded plastic back to fiberglass.

Sorry, I just went retro on you guys. I saw one of the 1st 5 SCer kits back in 2000-2001 and the WHOLE airbox was made of CF- these kits had the broken bracket issues. Comptech probaby stopped due to cost, but it was much quieter and it did look cool.

I'll try and find a pic...

Can you run the tube down to the front bumper to gain more HP like the CAI's? Having never seen a CT SC airbox, I am not sure how the air gets in.

I owned both styles and I prefer the "old" style. I think it looked better and held the hood prop in a more convenient location.
