Here is the ESM wiring diagram.

Don't hack on my drawing...it's all you need. There is no way to mess this up.

I went through a lot of work to get the pics and draw this for you...

My wires are diffrent on my esm for pre 2004. I have a red, black, blue and blue with a red stripe on mine

SIIK2NR or anybody that knows:

Can I use any powersource when the ignition is on with the power, and any good groud, or does it have to be the green with the white stripe for the ground and the yellow with red stripe for the power?

Also should I assume that my blue with a red stripe wire is equvalent to your green wire?

If you are having problems matching colors due to a difference in Model years then I would refer to the ESM wiring diagram and use the PIN location to make absolutely sure it's the right wire.

The only difference you should have for your older model is stated as such in the ESM installation instructions.

"RED/GREEN on pin #17" instead of the GREEN/RED.

Take a good look....take your time.....and you'll figure it out.

I would assume this....but to make sure... give Comptech a call and post what they tell you on this thread so we can all learn the difference.

I was not aware of the ESM differences on the different model years.

Definately use the wires that are stated. Comptech intructions state that you can damage the ECU and ESM if wired incorrectly. I would take their word for it.
