Default Comptech SC stock air filter

Hi Chaps,

Me again i due to fit my SC in 2 days (7psi +ac). I removed the stock comptech foam filter but noticed its dirty and needs cleaned...

I'm trying to sift out old threads in a search. Now I'm not a big fan of foam filters, but would it be beneficial (performance wise) to change to another filter e.g k&n, AEM etc?

Has any done any dyno's or will it not make any difference? - or should i just stick with the Comptech foam filter?

Thanks

I went with an AFE filter on mine. Foam filters don't clean the air worth a damn.

Yeah I went with the AFE as well. The new design with the extra filtered center for more flow. It fits in the stock CT box if your still running that.

I dont know why people dont like foam filters. ITG is one of the best if not THE best filter company out there. Its got the best flow by far and collects the most. The only downside is more cleaning than usual. A lot of the bmw turbo/na guys run this.

The HKS foam filter is there. I haven't seen ITG filters before.

My AFE actually fits in the comptech air box. I forget the part number though.
