Another option: get a much smaller pulley for the CTSC (3.6" or smaller), and lower your rev limit rpm slightly (obviously you need injectors and an EMS). Suddenly, your making great top end power, you can lower you rev's to reduce valvetrain strain and lower intake air temps, and you're making more low end torque due to the increased boost at lower rpms. I just lowered the rpms at which my shift beeper beeps so that I shift earlier but I still have the option of holding it in gear for an added burst of power if someone in a more powerful car is trying to pass.

It's still not as torquey as a little turbo but this setup really gives you the best of both worlds if you're looking to track your car (or touge).

 

in what way is a S2000's power band linear? Its the most nonlinear power band i can think of.

Any type of forced induction on a VTEC motor usually makes the power band more linear than in its n/a state.

 

i said a used comptech b/c there bountiful whereas used greddy's are not...i dont understand how people always wanna say how can u compare used price to a new price...very easily, theres tons of em on the market...y buy it new for twice the price...seems simple logic to me...if there are multiple used greddy kits out for private sale then i stand corrected but i have not seen more than 2 yet...no need to get so worked up over a simple concept...the supply of used comptechs is quite steady...

I once again say great the turbo spools at 3500 rpms. How often do you see 3500 when youre racing?
Freshs2k the butt dyno isnt always correct.

 

maybe not when racing, but for daily driving you'll notice the gains in the midrange much more. I find on my 05 the time in Vtec is so short, I wouldn't want to add more power up there. It seems Vtec to redline happens in two blinks of an eye and forced induction would make that even quicker. I like the idea of gaining midrange over peak hp numbers, since most of your driving is in the midrange.

 

Has anyone asked if a larger turbo could be substituted for the 18G? I was thinking a 20G might be a better choice since I want something that will pull hard all the way to 9k rpm rather than tapering off around 7. Thanks!
