Default converting CTSC mounting system to newer version

i've been staving off the demise of my old version CTSC blower's mounting system with temporary fixes, but i think it might be time for me to just upgrade. could anyone who's done the conversion please chime in with any advice/prices/experiences/pictures? CT rarely answers the phones these days

thanks

Are you talking about the newer plate with the bushings that go into it?

Hm. I don't think the plate has changed. The bushings are a little different from the originals. I haven't actually seen a newer plate, just in pictures.

What problems are you having with the mounting?

UD.

the VTEC solenoid mounting block cracked. i had it welded. it has held up fine, but the added strength increased vibration within the mounting block itself i guess, causing the bolt to strip out the threads. the newer mounting system has an extra mounting point on the vtec solenoid side and also is the main plate is isolated by rubber bushings.

i have a feeling that once i rethread the vtec mounting block, it might be stronger than before, and the vibration will just move to the main plate and crack that. basically, with the way it's designed, making one part better will just make another more susceptible to cracking.

I'd like to know about this too. I'm not having any trouble at all, but I'd like the newer style mount and VTEC block.

if you do a search for "cracked" in the FI forum you will see a few old threads as old as 2002 talking about the cracked SC mounting systems. some of them were horrible, some weren't that bad. apparently, because of the way it was designed, at 6200rpm the old style mounting plate "flaps like paper in the wind" according to one of the old threads.

i want to convert the entire mounting system to the new version to avoid any future failures. i'll give them a call again today but they NEVER answer the phones these days, even though i call during what they CLAIM to be their business hours

if you do get a chance to swing by there before i can get through to them, i'm looking to buy the entire new version mounting plate and brackets

I know the are working on the new mounting plate as we speak. I just don't know if they are finished and tested.
