Default Couple quick Vortech questions

I'm about to pull the trigger on a used Vortech kit.
I've been reading all I can about the Vortech, but I'm not sure that I found all my answers.

I've read that if I have both a test pipe and bigger exhaust, I'll likely need an EMS, but what about with just a 63mm HKS exhaust?

Steps after install:
1. wire A/F, boost, and Oil temp gauge?
2. go to a dyno and check A/F?
3. If A/F is off I'll need an EMS since the blackbox isn't tunable?
Any other supporting mods I might need?

Do you guys do any pre-boost maintence? Maybe do the 60k miles checklist?

Any other newbie tips would be much appreciated

you wont need ems with a larger exhaust. You might need to turn fuel pressure up a lil bit but that is all. If you have a wideband you wont need to take it to the dyno because you can richen it up on your own once you know where youre at.

I take it you are looking at the v3 kit. In the new dsport mag it says that kit comes with a hondata tuned ecu, well voucher anyways. I see on the website that it says nothing about this. Maybe something to look into. I also would like to buy this kit, but I havn't seen anybody running it yet. So really not sure what to do

I will tell you this, The wideband gauge for the AEM has been very helpful. And though it hasnt happened yet i got the oil pressure gauge to make sure i see my pressure at all time. I would rather not know my gas pressure than my oil.

As for Vortech, they have been the most cooperative company i have ever dealt with. They are more than accomidating and very knowledgable. I called once and asked about a part the is near another part that looked like something and he knew exactly what i was talking about and had it in my hands three days later.

EMS will be overkill if you're not running more than 7psi. you can use the fuel pressure regulator to tune. but if youre going to let the tuner tune that for you, you might as well get a piggyback like a vafc or neo. using that in conjunction with the fpr will cost the same for tuning and make the car easier to fine tune.

-make sure you get colder spark plugs (forgot which ones i use)
-put one way pcv valves on the 2 hoses leaving the valvecover because your dipstick will pop out if not.

If you turn the dipstick 180 degrees from it's normal position, won't that be enough to keep it from poping out?

Not something known from experience, but I've read that it works.

that does work, that's what i used to do. but it's ghetto and that much pressure shouldn't be building inside there anyway. that's the whole point of pcv valves, but the stock ones can't handle boost
