just installed krankvents just to verify once installed correctly the dipsitck will be hard to pull out and when it does you will hear a sucking noise?
my dip stick isnt at all hard to pull out (no pun intended).. i dont hear that vacuum sound.. i checked the krank vents again, theyre installed properly..
why would this be? ..i have a catch can, would that be it?
about those crank vents...... The whole idea about crankcase ventilation is that the moisture/oil/fuel/exhaust vapors (mostly oil and moisture smile.gif) would be pulled out from the crankcase into the intake and the fresh air drawn in.... Putting those crank vents would mess it up and nothing good would come out of it.
The only plausable thing to do is to put the catch can in inline where the PCV valve is, this way when the engine pulls in these vapor, the oil will be filtered out.
When the TB is closed, the vacuum in the intake manifold pulls in gases from the valvecover/crankcase and burns them in the engine.
that's how the oil gets burned.....too much oil gets sucked in from time to time....hence, the reason for the catch can.
Note that if you disrupt this flow of air your engine will pretty much feel like you in a 90 degree room with 100% humidity without the AC on
