That's gotta be the dumbest design I've ever seen. All that's going to do is put exhaust crap all over his pretty white hood and it will then get all over his windshield and trail over the top of the body etc.

Look at the area around a dumbtube for an external wastegate sometime, it's covered in black soot-like crap. Do you want that on your paint?

Sidenote: To add to this complete uselessness of the external wastegate design, the guy also has 2 TiAL bov's on the same location of ICP...how dumb and worthless can you be?
That car is a local to me, owned by a fabrication shop in Cleveland. It is a purpose built drag only car.
I don't think he cares about getting black soot all over. They are a VERY high end quality custom fabrication shop. Look how big the turbo is, I wouldn't say the twin BOV's are useless. There is no intercooler on the car, it uses a liquid cooler which leaves very little room for BOV placement as you can see. They plan to go faster than the AMS Evo, which runs mid to low 8 seconds. I've talked to the owner several times and he will be fabbing up a few pieces for my S. Still think he's an idiot?

I think it's an interesting setup, and I'd love to check out the car... (..is that a car that 'Adam', at Devo Tuning worked on?)

I still wanna do this...anyone have any input...?

Here's my setup...

Well, considering this thread was made by someone who doesn't use his s2k as a drag only car, why didn't you say it was a purpose built drag car in the first place?

I still stand on my comments IF the person gave 2 shits about his paint, but you're right, it does change the game if its a drag only car.

As for the 2 bov's in same location due to the a-w intercooler: I've yet to see a turbo as large as the one on that evo warranting 2 bov's.

Comming from DSMs, I know how stupid some kids were with DSMs, (routing the bov dump tubes to the fender just to hear the 'psshhht' louder), and I've seen just as stupid designs for EVOs now that they are getting down to the 20k range.

So, no, he's not an idiot since that particular car is well built FOR DRAG ONLY. On any normal street driven car, that design is a horrible idea.

We straight?

we have a few street cars up here in NY that dump out the hood, but the flames do cause quite a show. There was an s2k with the dump out the front quarter panel right behind the right front wheel Very clean setup..
