Put an EGT sensor in EACH cylinder otherwise it's pretty useless imo.

however most owners do not have the cash to have 4 egts and a controller/gauge that responds at the proper rate.

I have mine a coupe of inches after the final collector in the header.

While this is a lower reading then having it 2" for the exhaust port and one must account for this.

It serves it purpose when doing steady state tuning.

I am going with number 3 when I finish my set-up. From all the reading I've been doing, #3 is found (in most debates on this topic) to get the hottest....too bad I feel so horrible having to drill and weld the bung to my shiney new FR mani...... =(

That may be true...but what purpose does that serve?

You have 3 other cylinders that aren't being monitored ??

You might as well take your wideband reading off a random cylinder as well...

I'd say monitor each, or don't bother doing it @ all.

I see your point, but I would rather monitor the hottest cyclinder and get a general idea of where my EGT is, instead of having no clue. To be honest, I am planning on purchasing three more down the road, but I would want to find out if I have enough ports to run all the sensors on my AEM EMS first, LOL.. I hope I do!
