Default daily boost

hey guys, i have been thinking about turbo my s. i have an 01 with 82k on the clock. i am thinking about boosting it but it is my daily. i would only want about 360-380whp and be reliable. i dont mind peacing together a kit, i already have a stage 1.5 puddy mod diff. i am going to use aem ems to tune it. i have already done a compression test and it was 230 230 230 225. im wondering if this is a good idea, or stay away from it. i will put up a list later of mods im looking at doing. Also to run 8lbs do i need a a different map sensor? thanks guys.

Yes its reliable but sometimes things come up. You will be ok on map sensor, but I think it's better to do everything at once so you can be tuned for the right parts, ie, if you change map sensor later you will need a retune.

You may want to stick with a SOS sc

I daily drive my car and it's turbo'd. All depends on how well its installed and tuned. Haven't had any problems with mine.

thanks guys, soul ill def have to meet up with you sometime soon to get a ride. boost sounds like to much fun. especially in an S. Also i dont want supercharger becuase of the stock like powerband. i like the tq graphs of the boosted s2k vs the Sc s2k. boost equals much more of a broad powerband.

I personally would never daily a turbod S unless it was Greddy or something. Just not nearly as reliable as supercharged setups. That mileage is nothing though. I'm at 142k and boosted for about 20k now daily driven. I'm supercharged however.

i dd my turbo as did i with my turbo civic. my civic was full-race kit and my s2k has inline pro kit, both top notch quality. ive NEVER had any crazy problem come up with a good quality kit. you may run across some occasional minor problems (bolts falling off/ couplers coming loose) but if you dont like sticking your head under the hood every other day to check things out anything can happen even with s/c kit. i had a vortech on my civic and hated it, trying to keep the damn belt tight enough to not slip was annoying to me but not all kits are alike. boost is more stressful on every part of your car and with time somethings are just bound to happen

Been DD my turbo s2k for 30k (more or less) miles and no problems other than normal things that need replacing more often, such as spark plugs, oil, etc...

I would do a SC for more of a daily driver.
