I can't see the pics, but from the sound of it if your engine was unhealthy from the beginning (was it consuming a lot of oil?) then you probably had a lot of oil in the combustion chamber lowering your octane.

Well when you melt a piston it is the cause of the low compression and nothing else. Now before we all go nuts and blame the tuner there are alot of things that can go wrong with cars to cause lean conditions. Any bad parts in the fuel system will also cause this.

Agreed, which is why I didn't just jump to conclusions and blame T1, their reputation proceeds them.. clearly other factors were in play when it happened.
