Default Do I need to upgrade spark plugs when going SC?

I know this is probably a dumb question... but please bare with me as I ask it....

Ive just recently purchased a vortech supercharger kit and will be installing it in the very near future. Im currently running NGK Iridium IX (bkr7eix-11 - 6988) plugs. They only have about 10,000 K's on them. Will they be safe to continue using once I get my supercharger in? or should I order some new ones? Also will they need to be regapped or anything?

thanks heaps guys.

i did just to be on the safe side. it gets pretty humid in VA so i went one step colder to prevent detonation. im not sure the heat range on yours. i went with NGK laser platinums part # 5068. they were pre gapped.

Yes, most FI goes to the 8 plug BKR8EIX (2668). I forget the gap but it sounds like 0.30

Correct, but with those plugs you do not need to gap them and they even say its unsafe to gap them as you could damage the electrode.

yea, also 2668s. I notice a significantly increased amount of low-end power/response from going to them over the stockers, too. I think with the stock plugs, it rolls back timing quite often.

I gapped mine to factory specs of .043 without touching the electrode.

You can gap the NGK Iridium plugs, you just have to use the right tool. I gap all my plugs and all I use is NGK Iridium plugs, just don't put any sideways pressure on the center electrode.
This is from NGK
