S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

Does anyone know this F/I AP2?

Default Does anyone know this F/I AP2?

EDIT: fixing turbo vs S/C, so I don't look like a total n00b.

Hey all, sorry for the "abruptness" of an introductory first post.

Looking at buying an S2K and this F/I Rio Yellow Pearl AP2 (2005) came up. Only obvious interior mod is a AEP boost gauge on the A-pillar (does that really say 19 PSI?!?)...

...and under the hood is a pretty blower...

At first blush, quality of work looks good but experience has taught me to ask for more info. I've been told it was owned by a retired Air Force guy that came up to Ohio from Louisiana to trade it.

I'm assuming the F/I community is small enough that somebody may be familiar with it?

Advance gratitude.

Well that is a supercharger not a turbo. I don't know that s2000 specifically and I will have to think further what the gauge is measuring. It isn't boost, voltage, oil pressure, and hopefully not the AFR's.

Firstly it's not a turbo it's an comptech Novi 1000 sc. That's an afr guage showing 19 afr so likely it's been warm and cooled down or been started for a short period of time when its out if range eg 20+ it shows - - -

Ugh. Yeah, sorry for my ignorance on the F/I setup — I'm not used to seeing things hanging off the front of any engine, and I haven't seen it in person, just the pics.

Knowing it's an S/C does make it a little more palpable from a reliability standpoint.

Any quirks of that system or trouble spots to watch out for?

Looks like a serial gauge. I would think it's showing coolant or oil temp.

What has been the experience with the Comptech Novi 1000?

Specifically, drivability/reliability/quirkiness?

I'll run a search, but just want to know what to look for from a buying perspective.

Depending on this guy's boost level (which I would speculate to be in the 10-12 PSI range) it can be an extremely reliable setup. The SC setup on our cars is known for being pretty easy on the engine, not producing insane power levels, plays nicely with the OEM trans/diff, and doesn't require much else to be upgraded. He's obviously running an AEM standalone ECU, he's got some kind of aftermarket injectors in it, probably an aftermarket pressure plate or clutch kit (common is ACT pressure plate with OEM friction disc), but other than those and the bits and pieces you see in that picture, that's probably all that's done to it.

You can measure the pulley that is mounted on the opposite side of the blower mounting plate to know what boost level he is running at.

You should be able to peek down between the fuel rail and the intake manifold from the front side and see what kind of injectors he's running. Matter of fact, looks like I see the RC logo in that picture up there.
