Does my Walbro 255lph need replacement?
When starting up, my fuel pump makes the loud whine for 1-2 seconds then it's quiet. But the other day after about 2 hours of very hard driving it started to make a constant high pitched whine (but not as loud as the startup whine). But when I let my car sit overnight and then drove it the next day it was fine. It's still not making any noise now. Is this a sign that my fuel pump is on its way out? Or is it normal for the fuel pump to make that noise after spirited driving? It was used and came with the CTSC kit.
thanks!
thanks!
Yep. Normal.
I carry my old OEM pump/filter/etc. in a Ziploc bag in the spare tire center (along w/tools). In case the Walbro fails on a long trip, I know I can swap the orig in and at least make it home taking it very easy on the throttle.
