Default Drawbacks to huge injectors?

I cant seem to find anything that tells me what i need to know. Im looking to get injectors but I need to know if there is a drawback to having say, 1300cc if im not planning on fully utilizing them yet. My sig has my mods, I have a Inline Pro fuel rail and i have Kpro on its way, so the injectors can be adjusted. I was just wondering if dialing back huge injectors was bad in any way.

Definitely, 1000cc and 1300cc injectors aren't really considered huge anymore...

Especially with the quality tuning applications out there and the newer injectors have good low pulse widths (this is where your idle and cruise quality comes from), you can still dial in a stock-like idle and cruise.

1300cc is a lot of injector, though. Should be able to support over 700hp on pump gas and close to 600hp on E85.

With a 1300cc size being mentioned, I'm guessing you are looking at DeatschWerks' stuff?

I was looking at 1000, but with some new 1300s out, i was wondering if there was any reason NOT to get them since its only a few bucks extra. I doubt ill ever try for more than 400 or so HP so i think 1000s should do me. I havnt settled on a brand yet but it will be something top end, not some cheap shit.

If you don't need them don't get them. Idle is harder to tune with bigger injectors.

Injector Dynamics' stuff seems to have the best rep here. That leaves you with a dilemma: 725cc or 1000cc? 725 is almost a bit low for your goals, so I'd suggest 1000cc. That'll give you some headroom if you want to turn the boost up further.

You'll have a perfect idle with IDs once tuned. We started my car with my 2200s and a new motor and the car started right up. That typically wont happen with an RC injector of that size

Totally agree. I had RC 650's that were at 98% duty cycle (Flashpro tuned @ 382WHP) and I decided to change to the ID1000's based on the information here and it was a great decision. I am now somewhere in the low to mid seventies for duty cycle and all is very well.
