Angry dynoed and boom

]This is the most irratating, horrible, and excrutiating expirence i have ever had. The shop that had it on the dyno to make it short did 2 pulls and just called me and told me that the rod barring broke im not sure i was so white from what he told me that i did not even comprehend how this is happening. I need some help here guys. He told me that he called around and asked why this happened and they all told him, it was because s2000 have problems with turbo and the rod is their weak point of the engine. He told me that I would have to pull the engine out to take it to a machine shop and fix it. Now more waiting, more time, and heartache now. This Engine had 40,000 grand on it and now this. Why, there is so many turbo s2000s here and I have to have the one that could not take the turbo. It wasnt even being ran at a major boost level. It was being ran at 2psi; he told me i believe. Can someone tell what could of gone wrong??? Can some one tell me what to do??? I dont know how to take this anymore.

2 psi, rods weak? get a new shop man, the best advice i can give you is start looking around for a used short block.... and take it to someone else.

Who's the shop so people can beware?

I am not a s2000 turbo expert by any means. But, three points: 1) I find it hard to believe it was only 2psi considering there's a bunch of people here running almost 10 times that. 2) It is possible that the engine already had a weakpoint. Were there basic tests done to insure the engine was in good shape before the turbo was installed? 3) The internals of the s2000 are far from weak. They are forged for crying out loud. I'm not sure how much stronger it gets!

This is unfortunate and I am sorry to hear. It is an albeit ill-timed part of the game though. Nothing you can do about it now so might as well just fix it and build it stronger.

Sorry to hear that bro. It really sucks that you weren't even there. From the sound of it, it may not have been redlined in awhile. 2psi isn't going to change much as far as hp and tq.
Regardless it sucks man. I hope yo ucan get everything fixed at a decent price and in a timely manner.

ditto

I had one bad experience letting someone tune a previous car i owned, so from now on i spend the extra money to have someone that is specialized in tuning the exact car i own, instead of just someone who says they know how to tune. A few wrong keystrokes, and you'll be engine shopping

Another thing.... when i have a lot of money invested in something, i would NEVER just drop it off and have someone beat the piss out of it w/o me watching When i pay for a professional tune, i want to be right there to make sure everything goes the way i want it.

most likely the shop messed up someone did they dont want to admit it but i find it hard the car was only on 2 psi also how was the oil levels something is not rigth get youre car out of the shop.. take it to someone certified and have them disamsamble the motor find reason why it messed up make sure to take pics of the car at the shop you taking it out and at the new one after they find the reason if it was the shop small claims just make sure you get the proof
