All "high end" oil lines use Earl's fittings, so these are as good as they are gonna get. Let's hope this is an isolated incident. I will check mine today and see how they are holding up.

Bump!
Just comfirmed with the manufactuer... they said if anything is damanged, the first place a leak would occur is in that hole! I'm gonna swing by later today. Can anyone give me the PART # for these adapters? They cost $40 a pop so I dont want to buy multiple sizes
THanks!

someone mentioned here that you should NOT use teflon tape for these fittings - can someone else confirm this? if that is the likely culprit i will not use teflon tape when installing.
as an added reference the greddy install manual mentions nothing about using teflon tape on these fittings.

You never ever use teflon tape with earls. It's a conical face seal. If anything, including a tiny piece of teflon, gets in between the two faces it will leak.
Kix: you may be able to unscrew the fitting and trim a small piece off. The diy kits use the same fittings. I find the greddy kit puts a lot of pressure on the lines(the worst part of the install imho). That may be why they're failing. This is the second one I've heard of failing.

Will the vibration of the engine will lose the tighten of the Earl fitting and cause leaking?
Also, any of you notice a significant vibration between 2600-3000 rpm, but back to normal after passing the 3k rpm?

I had one leak before on my comptech fuel line, it was a cracked fitting in the same area you are describing...
My Greddy ones seem A OK and I was sure not to over tighten them.
