The forward facing kits are definitely much easier to install. 1 piece down pipe, non-recirculated dump tube(s), and tapping the front top left corner of the oil pan (by the AC pump) also help simplify things.

That was going to be my question. I was debating leaving my s2000 na and looking for a 996 911 turbo. From what I have read with just a flash you are at 500 awhp and the drive trains good up to 700 whp. So why are you coming back to a turbo s? Thanks

I went all out on that car. Alpha30 turbo kit, intercoolers, clutch, gt2 slave conversion, BBK, inlet piping, fueling, aero, GT3 wheels, KW suspension, etc etc etc....

In the end I had a car that would walk a ZR-1. But it was heavy feeling, squeaky and rattly, major electrical gremlins, and just plain crappy.

I don't know if I'll really be able to explain it. But when I sold it and found this 2007 s2000 with under 9000miles..... After sitting in the driver seat for 10 seconds, it just felt like home. The s2000 just feels better built. The 996 turbo felt like a european mustang.

I'm not 100% sure on turbo'ing this car too. I might supercharge. I want something that is daily drivable and still quick. I don't need to have the fastest car on the street like the 996 as I don't street race, and don't track at all.

I've actually had 2 s2000's in the past. One with a comp tech on stock boost. LOVED that car. My wife could drive it without any issues. The 2nd s2k I built was the one in my signature. Widebody J's with every part I could buy and a turbo with a crappy AEM v2 tune. I hated that car.....

Now you got me going.......

The 996 shifts like a tractor. Steers like a bus. And sounded like a broken ride on lawn mower.

Oh. And if you've never owned a Porsche. Have fun with the Never ending task of fixing new oil leaks.

And every other time you start one it puffs blue smoke and everybody thinks your car is broken (boxer engine blues)

It was my only experience with a Porsche and I really made sure I got a low km well maintained specimen. But it seemed like I got a lemon. But talking with the Porsche community in the area. They are all like this.

It wasn't all bad though. It looked hot. Was super torquey. And was always cool to say I had a 700hp 911 turbo.

But overall I enjoy the s2000 better and it's for sure a cheaper hobby.

Quoted so I can show my friend that is a Porsche tech. He is a diehard Porsche fanatic; the crest this, the crest that. Don't call it a Porsch, it's Porsche blah blah blah

Ya. Actually after my last major s2000 build I was complaining to my mechanic that I could have had a 996 turbo.

He said "why would you want that? This honda is much better built anyways"

I didn't believe him. I should have listended. Would have saved me $80k in the lost resale of my my s2k and the Porsche. And now I'm back building another s

I came in here hoping to find out some good information about what the least intrusive turbo kits are, and learned to never buy a Porsch-UH instead.. lol

Sounds like you'll be more happy with a SOS N1200 kit with a smaller pulley making 450WHP+ it you'd like.
