Elda Engineering Turbo Kit
Actually this will happen. I have a Elda turbo manifold in my hands. My installation is pending. Only a few minor things need to get done prior to me scheduling the installation. So there is still hope.
As for Elda pulling out of the V2 bar. There is more to that then what you know. Changing a manufacture is always troublesome. The turbo has been plauged with manufacture first production run delays. all of them have been delt with and resolved. It was the effort from taking the manifold from prototype to production that caused some of these delay.
For the record, this thread started long before it should have. The kit was only a prototype at the time. If anyone has any questions, please post them and I will try to address them.

Wow! I had no idea there was this level of interest and chit-chat going on...Old friend David Bennett emailed me to tell me I need to stop by here, it's been a while since I've visited S2ki. The turbo system is still going to happen.
The roll bar is a whole other issue. Go Fast Labs will service that product much better than I can for many reasons; To begin with my work obligations went through the roof and manufacturing the roll bar will require I make 50 units which I do not have the ability to properly market or to carry the financial responsibility...unless someone wants to loan me $30k and not expect it back for 2 years.
Go Fast Labs. Inc, can make 10 at a time and have shorter delivery times to customers since 65-70% of roll bar sales are in California, people can pick them up locally and can customize them to their liking easier...
I threw out the engineering drawings the fabrication company made, they were crude in my professional view, and created a whole set of real blue prints. They were reviewed twice by a Sikorsky engineer and modified. I just shipped a complete set of drawings to SCCA for review because, as you all know, there is no such things as Solo I anymore, they switched over to Time Trials. I need the drawings reviewed by them before I sign off on the completed sets of drawings that are sitting on my shelf. I don't take this task lightly and it must be approached in a real professional manner. I can't release anything unless it's been done properly, drawn properly, to real engineering standards, checked and rechecked several times to make sure I am not sending out a joke of a product. There is only one way I will work and it has to encompass true professionalism and integrity. This is not rhetoric that you often read in most hollow promise statements and product descriptions. I take this matter seriously, afterall I will have zero control over the final product, the least I can do it get them a real set of drawings.
As far as the turbo...the first castings finally came in, one was delivered to Jeff for him to coat with his experimental finishing product, then he will schedule an install in San Antone when everything is set. We're making slow progress, the real problem was castings. We needed to revise the mold over 8 times in the past 6 months for the production stage. Pouring one lose casting is easy, but making them for production is tough and we encountered many wall thickness problems and core shifting...etc. The problems were worked out and we're at the stage now were Jeff will let us know whether the years of work so far have resulted in a real product or a joke. We're working on this system and when we feel it's absolutely ready and been tested and retested, then we will sell it.
The shift from prototype to preproduction has been long and marred with many problems. That is very typical of any real product. Nothing is ever easy in such a transition but we're making headway. I think those that want a real product will be glad they waited.
Jeff has been handed the baton...run Jeff...run.
cheers

Thanks W for the update on both products. Where can I send the check for $30k. j/k for sure.
Those of us who have your products can respect your professionalism and continue to watch, wait, and wish you well on the turbo project.

I'm glad this is still in the works...can't wait to see the final results!
