Default emanage ultimate gurus,i need help with cel

parts i have:

-emanage ultimate ordered from japan-came with 2.00 firmware but flashed to 2.13
-boomslang harness ordered 8/07 with knock and water input
-00 s2000 i/e/ 4.32 gears , modifry yellow jacket

plugged the harness in and followed the ultimate emanage 101 setup thread
jumper setup i used:
jp1 open
jp2 open
jp3 open
jp4 open
jp5 open
jp6 open
jp7 1-2
jp8 1-2
jp9 open
jp10 2-3
jp11 open
jp12 open
jp13 open (also tried 1-2)
jp14 open
jp15 1-2
jp16 1-2
jp17 open (also tried 1-2)
jp18 open
jp19 1-2
jp20 1-2
jp21 1-2

yes it has jp 21 !! noone has ever mentioned jp21 b4

when i start the car it idles very rough and needs some throttle input to keep the engine running. the engine check light is on. so we hooked up the obd sensor and i get the following 2 errors:

-map sensor voltage low
-vtec system failure

when i hook my standard ecu in there is no engine check light
where i am there no tuners who are familiar with emanage ultimate on an s2000

so my question is:
is there something wrong with the boomslang harness? or is there something wrong with my emanage software setup that i havent configured right? could the yellow jacket interfere with the emanage altho the cel is different?

might be defective unit, but before we go there, just check some basics:

1. jumper settings look right just keep jp17 OPEN, although i do not know about the jp21.

2. have you updated software and firmware for the unit and you laptop? check mohdparts.com to DL if needed

3. make sure you have the f20c engine set up running on the EMU too. Im talking about the one found under the blue car icon.

low map sensor voltage...i guess it could be a few things. first off, make sure the emanage isnt running a volatage clamp or something i guess. If you didnt set any values, i have no idea why it would do this, but just to be sure check the "airflow output map." now, weather its low voltage to the map sensor thats causing a rough idle, or if its a rough idle that causing the low voltage im not sure. Just to be clear, do you have any values put into your emanage right now besides setting to the stock f20c settings?

-ok yes jp17 is open
-the software on the pc and laptop is 2.13 , i d/led it from mohd
-yes the vehicle is setup for f20c in the setup

i havent put any map values into the emanage cos i have only just plugged it in and tried to get the car running without a cel

under the emanage data logger, the airflow input v is only 0.1-0.2v !! hmm and the airflow output is 0 v
so i guess that's why my map sensor is reading low ! but how do i fix it ?

but i still dont know why i get a cel for vec system failure. but i know it has not failed cos when i plug the honda ecu back in vtec works fine

enthralled: i have no maps as of yet !

for referance, my airflow input is close to 1.0v at @950rpms idle. All the values in the airflow output map should be 0, zero means emanage is not making any adjustments.

Is it an Australian market car? There are some PCM wiring differences between a US OBDII car.

Also - disconnect the knock wire, you should have ordered the IAT/ECT harness (knock does not work on the S2000/Ultimate).

Even if you do not have any map settings - you need to setup the car (click the blue car). If you do not configure the car setting the eManage will not know how to pass the control signals through properly.

Your car should be setup as follows:

As mentioned by SlowS2K - there are PCM differences that we would not be able to help you with. Another Q - are you still using the stock injectors?

Hope that helps

slow- yes it is an australian s2k but i have a genuine jap f20c engine in there (not the f20c that came on the au model tho it has worked flawlessly with the AU computer ). any idea what the pcm wiring difference is ?

wlaurent- b4 i ordered the boomslang harness i emailed them about which option to select and they told me water and knock . i have tried those settings u posted above but i still get the engine check light. and yes i am on the stock injectors

my mechanic checked with an obd and the cel is what i posted above already ie map voltage low, and vtec system failure.

so does that help u guys about where the wiring may have gone wrong on the boom slng harness ? would my modifry yellow jacket interfere as well even tho its hooked to the main loom? with the engine check light on the car doesnt seem to rev past 3000rpm.

to get the car to even idle properly the tuner had to use a value of 20 in the ignition table ! which is wrong obviously

AusS2000 can probably give you more info on the wiring differences between the US spec PCM and yours. He had to deal with similar issues when using a Blue e-manage.
