For only 9psi (thats more like 375hp ) emanage is more then enough. EMS is def not needed for such a low boost level (its overkill).

Check to be sure, but I'm 99% sure the emanage works on the 06 cars.
you mean the Greddy emanage right? if that is so, then inline will be hearing from me sooner than i thought can anybody confirm this?

The aem ems disables the OBDII port so no, you will fail emissions.
Not all emissions checking places check and plug into you OBDII port. Here in IN when they had emissions, they did not plug into the port at all or get in your car. They only put a reader in the tail pipe and had you drive through gears on the dyno.

I didn't say all places you'll fail. The op stated they plug into the OBDII port so I responded by saying he'll fail because the EMS disables the port...

That is incorrect. Check the main page http://www.hondata.com/

With the K-pro, or a piggyback, you should be able to pass emissions. This is if they do a quick check(only plug in the OBD 2 port, no visual or exhaust sniff). As long as this passes, you should be good to go.

I think you can also run the HKS f-con pro. There was talk that it kept the OBD 2 port functioning, but don't quote me on that.

Chris
I think you misunderstood what I was talking about.

I was saying pre06 ecus are not programable, I wasn't talking about emissions. [/QUOTE]
I'm just confused I thought he had a 2001... lol

Anyway, carry on

Bulldog has an 06 (who I was talking to in one of my posts)

The op has an 01 (he just asked if the ecus were programable like the 06's, which I responded no)

Maybe that clears it up

With an 01, I'd go for the EMS. It has no issues on pre-06 cars, its cheaper, and people have 800+hp on this system with the s2k.

yea i had ems on the car when i had the CTSC setup.
only 1 o2 sensor was used though so i couldnt pass emissions.

since then i parted out my whole car... now i wanna keep it and build it this time and go turbo. just exploring the different tuning options. If i have to ill get the motor built... then get it echecked then put the turbo on. That was ill have at least 2 years b4 i have to get it checked again,

K-pro should not have any HP limit. It provides pretty much everything the EMS offers with the added bonus of OEM starting, OBDII capability for emmisions (not for the Cali-CARB folks), and your engine coolant temp gauge works right out of the box.
