Default EMS location

I just recieved my AEM EMS and will be having it installed soon. Where have some of you mounted the unit? Are there pros and cons for different locations or is it a matter of preference ? Is an extention harness needed to mount behind the seat ? If so does the FROG 5' harness reach ? I appreciate your help .

If you have the 1052 you can mount it in the stock location with the velcro strips they supply. If you have the older version you'll need the Frog harness to extend the wires. the 5' should definitely be long enough for you to mount the EMS behind your seat.

*disclaimer* this is going to be a huge newb question

since you said stock location, do you mean that the ems will take the place of the stock ecu (removing of the ecu)?

I'll answer this because everyone's learning curve has to start somewhere but please read the plethora of information available here.

The AEM EMS is a standalone engine management system. It completely replaces the stock ECU.

I ask because I don't think it replaces the ECU on the 06, instead it uses a harness to connect to it. thanks
