Engine build for Turbo
Hey guys, had a change of plans and got an awesome deal on a 03 s2k. The only catch is it had rod knock. It is okay though because I was planning a turbo build for my other one, so with the money I saved I am planning in building the engine for turbo. I have to run pump gas 93 as it's the only thing available near me. I've been searching but not finding much good info or plans on a build. Does anyone have plans or suggestions on building the motor for my turbo build. Plan on 500whp. Would love to build the motor now, once, and be able to really push it to the limits later on.
What's the best plan for this? Parts? Thanks. If you have any questions or need more info just ask. Really looking for some guidance to build one hell of a motor with crazy high potential.

For only 500hp I wouldnt build the motor to keep cost down. I would have the motor gone through and just get a nice set of factory pistons/rods if they need to be replaced, new OEM bearings or a clevite 3 layer coated bearing(NO ACL`s!), have the crank balanced, decked, cleaned, and put the shortblock back together with a new OEM TCT, water pump, and oil pump, oh and dont forget to do the AP2 4 hole oil jet/squirter bolts. I would focus on only upgrading the head while keeping the block fresh. Head I would do some ARP head studs, a supertech 90lb dual valve springs and stainless retainers(once again no titanium to keep it a street car for longevity), and if you are feeling wild have the head refreshed with a nice set of Ferrea 6000 series valves. All this shouldnt cost you more than $2000 and you will have a great fresh motor good for 700hp all day long that you can put another 100k on! WITH A GOOD TUNE OF COURSE! lol
