yea but apparently without upgraded downpipe not much more power is to be made.should see bigger gains with a free-er flowing downpipe even thought the greddy manifold should chocke it up quite a bit..

Anyways italyn stalyn was the upgrade to a 3071r worth the money...ill be thinking of this route maybe next summer just want it to be worth the thousand dollars..
You'll still make a decent amount more power than the stock turbo, but to realize the full potential you'll want to go 3" straight through. I'm still lagging on getting my downpipe and HFC, I'm assuming I'll make between 330-350 rwhp when all is said and done. It was worth it for me because I pretty much pieced everything together for less than $3k including everything (3" dp, hfc and exhaust).

My setup is pretty free flowing (70mm test pipe and 70mm straight through exhaust), so I'm just going to use the greddy down pipe. I'm sure it will be fine.

Like I said, I'm not looking for more top end, if I happen to get a little that's great... but I'm just looking for a more efficient turbo. I autox and track the car so I really don't need more power for my goal.

Negative. The stock greddy dp bolts right up. What you need to worry about most is making sure the actuator fits. You're going to need a bracket for it. The GT3071R on ATP's site bolts right up. I have it on mine right now. Just search for EngineerX's thread, all the information is there.
EngineerX's thread is misleading in it's information. He links to this turbo:

http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?S...tegory_Code=GRT

Which is a GT3076r. Then mid way throught his post he states: "But when you see the guts.... the Garrett GT3071R's turbine impeller (top) is beefier"

SO which one is it? That's why I hate searching through things on this site... some information is wrong and most of the time people say they will post pics or information and they don't... so it leaves open questions un answered...

I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT TURBO!!! Jeez... LOL.

It's not wrong, either one will fit. Revenge was running the 76 I'm running the 71 as are some others. Just depends on whether or not you want the bigger compressor. My a/r is the .63, which will help with faster spool.

Ok, well maybe you guys can help me decide... Which one should I get for my goal?

Can someone describe the differences between the two? (gt3071r and gt3076r)

I'm not planning on going with a 3mm head gasket EVER. I just want a fast spooling, decent power making turbo that will not die out up top. If I could stay at 300hp and 235ftlbs at LOW boost and maybe like 350hp and like 250ftlbs(or more) at high, then I'd be happy.

I say get the 3071r as it's max power output is about 450whp.

Turbine
-Wheel: 56.5mm w/ 84 trim
-Housing: 0.64 a/r

WITH

Compressor
-Wheel: 76mm w/ 48 trim
-Housing: .60 a/r

OR

Compressor
-Wheel: 71mm w/ 56 trim
-Housing: .50 a/r

What would you choose with my goals in mind and why?

Subscribed... I'm starting to wonder what percentage of people who buy the Greddy kit quickly decide it's too weak? I'll probably swap out my turbo too.
