Default Eye opener..how things can take a turn for the worst

This past weekend a good friend of mine lost his 1000+whp turbo c6 in a unexpected fire. Luckily he survived and noone was injured but it just goes to show how anything can happen to anyone at any point in time. He was just cruising around when a fire started under the hood unfortunately he didnt have any fire extinguisher to stop the blaze. Its believed to be a fuel leak but nothing is certain. I asked him for permission to put this up just to make people aware FI or not to take some safety precautions because you never know. My heart goes out him as he has put blood, sweat, tears, time and obviously more money than most could imagine. It was deffinately a wicked ride and I wish em the best on his future endevours. Here is a link to lsx tv which has a few pictures and some story behind the beast. Be safe out there guys

wasn't able to check out the link, but definitely very sucky to hear One of the reasons why i carry these single-use fire extinguishers in the car:
http://www.amazon.com/Fire-Gone-2NBF...e+extinguisher

Not sure how they would fare against a big fire, but hope to never have to use them

Better than nothing but it wont stop an engine fire...

Since im turbo'ed i got myself one of these:

Sparco afff 2.6kg foam

Still think thats not enough though

Sad story though, this happens ALOT and people still are not buying GOOD extinguishers to save their car....

I hate to see things like this, it is really sad and my heart goes out to this guy. My first boost s2k caught fire too but I was lucky enough to get the fire out quickly before it took my whole car in large part because my car caught fire at a roadside assist place and they had a massive fire extinguisher. My car catching on fire was always a big fear of mine and it happened so now I'm super paranoid. I keep 2 fire extinguishers in my car now and I'm going to invest in a large one. Trust me when I say this those small extinguishers dont do much once a good fire is goin so sacrifice some trunk space and invest in the biggest one you are willing to get

I have a H3R Performance MaxOut fire extinguisher mounted in the cabin since I started messing with the fuel lines. Hopefully, I won't have to use it.
