Default F20C Build questions/help

To make a long story short, I ended up purchasing a replacement F20C for my already blown motor. Turns out the motor I ended up purchasing was a lemon as well...low an behold I decided to have this motor built since it was going to cost me nearly the same amount of money to have it re sleeved and reassembled as it would if I just had them build it while they were in there. So here is where I stand, and please feel free to help out as this is my first Honda, and I am not too familiar with the F20C. She will be built by a very reputable shop out here in Arizona.

I want a fast spooling setup, not too concerned for big numbers just yet...eventually yes but right now, something with fast spool, and good acceleration would be ideal. I was thinking around a GT28? The car will mainly be used for street driving, but the occasional HPDE at the local track. Want it somewhere around 350ish, and then maybe later upgrade to around 500-600 ish once I feel like doing so. What kind of parts should I be looking at throwing in the motor? The shop was talking about JE pistons and what not, but just wanted input from those of you whom have built motors as well. Is it better to have them set up the motor for lower compression? I was going to keep it with the stock compression and have it remain N/A for a few months to finish saving money for a good turbo kit, I'm not trying to cut any corners on this what so ever.

Thanks again for all the input, and I will start a build thread once I have finalized the setup and the motor is started.

10:1 compression with a GTX30 turbo. Will spool fast and should get you close to 600whp when the time comes.

the compression depends on what fuel you plan on using, for e85 or race gas keep the 11:1 compression, it its gonna be a pump gas car i would bring it down to 10:1 or 9:1, u can keep it at 11:1 for pump gas but you will be limited to about 13-14 psi, but with a good manifold and turbo that can see 500 hp

For now I plan on using 91 pump gas with the smaller turbo on a conservative tune so 13-14 psi would be fine, just to get the motor wore in properly and get comfortable with the car. Then I will be converting to E85 right before I step up to a bigger setup down the road. I only drive the s2k every now and then so won't get many miles on it, it's not my daily driver

i am just finishing up building my block, and I am running BC rods, with CP pistons, 9:1 compression, and bored over to 89mm. For the head i am running stock cams, with ferrera vaulves and spings and retainers. I will have 2 tunes on this set up. 1 for punp gas for daily driving to be around 450 and 1 for race gas for track days and be around 600.

hope it all works out for you.

I guess the biggest concern is compression. I just got off the phone with CFT to ask them a few questions about their 800hp+ monster and they said they were using a 9:5 compression. Once I get this compression right, the build can begin

Honestly price isn't a factor at this point. I've done garage budget builds before on previous cars and I'm going for quality on this one.

Fast, reliable, and cheap...pick 2 because you can't have the other

Thats what i like to hear. I have a brand new, 0 mile f25, sleeved, everything top of the line. it will get you more torque than you could imagine from one of those baby turbos. Pm me if interested.
