Default few ap1 turbo questions.

btw these are just questions. i am in no way going to do anything im asking in real life. so dont flame plz im just trying to get some info

i needa know if the s2k's head is ported from the factory.

also what is the most hp u can get with a stock motor just a 3mm hg and a turbo kit ( with injectors and ems and stuff like that though.)

and if it doesnt have ported heads from the factory at what point do you have to port the head and intake manifold to increase the volumetric efficiency?

if u could provide me with a link or something to prove it ( as my teacher is ignorant and things im lying unless i show him proof) that would be great!

sotck ap1 head isn't ported but flows pretty well. You can hit 500whp on stock internals with a hg probably more. I made 480 on the stock internals with a HG before I built the motor.

well i googled s2000 ported from factory and i checked out the temple of vtec thread on it.

and the dude they had trying to make a head found that the head was cleaned up from the factory. so maybe they did some sort of port on it?

and i know some ppl are pushing like 10psi with stock engine and oem hg. so i'd like to know how much hp their getting out of that. and how much u could go up on with a 3mm hg

To the first question: It depends on your definition of ported.

Old heads were designed pretty badly from a fluid dynamics point of view. So tuners would get out the grinders and clean up the flow and match them to the manifolds that attached to them. They called it porting.

The S2000 head was not designed badly. It was designed quite well and the ports match the manifolds pretty good. I guess you could say this means it is 'ported' from the factory but you could also say that because it is designed well in the first place it doesn't benefit from porting.

aus thats pretty much what im saying is that its made good and u dont have to port. but my teacher says in order to reach 800 hp u'd have to port the head. im trying to find proof though to show him

You realise you didn't mention 800hp in your original post.
