A slipping clutch will keep rapidly wearing away until there's nothing left and you will be stranded. The car will not move.

I would go with Kanes group buy right now on the comp. clutch. I have the ACT with comptech and it chatters.. alot of other people have the same issue with there ACTs..(and some dont have any chatter) I would go with the competition clutch.. Why dont i have one?? I got my hardtopguy clutch kit free or i would have ordered one from Rashed in a heart beat! Great guy to deal with!!

Spec stage 3 clutch is awesome and the pedal feel is just like stock. And for only $577 you can't go wrong.

The hyper single seems to have a fairly short lifespan and I was told by the Engineers at exedy that it's not really for more than 350whp.

The twin carbon is the sex and great for the really high HP guys. However $3000 a pop
I want a dual plate on my S so bad I can taste it, and the Exedy twin carbon looks sweet, but we had problems with the twin carbons on our R-32. They worked perfectly and felt great (heavy pedal, short engagement point, but not at all hard to drive on the street), but we went through three of the things in six months. Basically all three started slipping slightly during the break-in period and went down hill from there. As much as we liked the feel of the twin carbons we had to to to another source to get a little reliability.

I'm hoping the twin carbon will work out better on the S, but I'm quite willing to let some of the other guys be the guinea pigs.

<---dealer for SPEC and doesn't carry/sell their stuff anymore. I've had too many guys complain to me about their clutch wearing out too fast.

The carbon/carbon rattle & chatter is nerve recking. You MUST heat the clutches up prior to running the car very hard. They will always slip until they get hot enough. Lots of people have been finding this an issue since it wears out tires so bad to heat up the clutch and then you have the wear of the $3000 clutch if you dont.

I'll be trying to get one of the twin carbons in stock if I can by monday just so I can look at it. I think I'm going to stick with the Ironman on my S2000 though since it's performed flawlessly so far.

Wow, I haven't had one problem with it. Maybe they didn't break it in properly and slipped the clutch which will glaze it and cause problems with wear. If you break the clutch in properly, it should never wear out because it won't be slipping to wear it down.

It will wear out regardless but I've had 2-3 guys have a dead clutch in a few thousand miles. That's pretty dishearting to me. One of them is a good friend of mine and I know he's not an idiot on the clutch. I'd expect that sort of milage with the puck styles but not with the full face. This was before I had a store and was initially looking to get a clutch for my car and doing some research from people who had them first hand after hearing a bunch of reviews from asking around I just went with the Competition Clutch brand and have been happy so far. They all said the grip was good though on the SPEC.

Hopefully it won't happen to me, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Changing the clutch was a PITA.
