Default FI cooling

I currently have a comptech supercharger running 7psi with aftercooler and plan to do a couple lapping days with the car this coming summer. The only extra cooling i currently have is a mugen fan switch and thermostat. Im unsure which route to take for cooling. Either go with a bigger rad or an oil cooler(air or liquid). Im kind of leaning towoards running a better rad than the OEM one but i dont know if its going to help keep the oil temps down (using the stock oil cooler).

Any suggestions would help. Would i even need more cooling since im only running 7psi? I have an oil temp gauge but have not taken the car to the track yet with the SC to see what the temps would be.

Koyo rad with FAL fans installed, they have already dropped my idle temps by nearly 20 degrees C, in stop and go traffic. The Koyo is a dual core aluminum and the FAL fans are a beautiful slimline fit that move some gooood CFM. I know great places to get both for in the neighborhood of nearly 600.00

Summit Racing has the fans for 300 and some change shipped, and local sponsors can give you the rad for 300ish too.

And another good thing is the SoS heat exchanger for the Aftercooler, much larger core and you can attach a small fan so those intake temps stay alittle lower.

If you add them and post here you will just be adding to the misconception that they are required.

When I had a Comptech SC (8.5psi non-aftercooled BTW) I ran many track days with stock radiator and no other cooling mods.

What were the track temps ?

My car usually runs fine Vortech 8.5psi with larger heat exhanger. But last summer 100-110 degree days the car would run hot so I would have to do hot lap/cool down lap/hot lap etc..

The only thing I've done is tilt the heat exchanger back some so that it allows a tad more air to the radiator. But an oil cooler and aluminum rad/ fans are in the works. I have no actual temps/data but I can tell you the stock temp gauge would creep up to the mid point.

Ya Up here in the Toronto area we dont often see 100-110 degree days. I have a spearco rad instead of the comptech one which completely covers my radiator.

Did you measure your oil temps? I can hit 260-270F driving hard in the mountains. Also CT SC with no aftercooler. I ran it at a track day but didn't have have the oil temp monitored at that time, but the car was hard to start after cooling down a bit which makes me think the oil was cooked. I am in the process of installing cooling mods for track days this year. Not really worth it to take the chance, IMHO.
