Thumbs up FI on my '06 S

I have an '06 S and just hit the 600 mile mark. I plan on ordering the 4.56 FD within the next couple of weeks. I also plan on going FI (Full-Race Stage 1 turbo kit most likely) come summer of '06. I only drive about 8-10K miles a year, so I will maybe have 5K miles on my S come next summer. Could there be any problems with boosting a car with only ~5K miles?

I boosted mine after only 3800 miles and she still only has 8800 on her now with no problems.

Now the unwanted news. The '06 is drive by wire and no kits are available and won't be available for quite a while. This is new territory for hot rodding.

I don't understand that statement. Are you telling me that the Full-Race Stage 1 turbo kit cannot be installed on my car because it has DBW?

Engine management is an issue with DBW...

It wont be as "simple" of an install as it would have been with a traditional throttle cable.

I could be wrong, but to get a kit designed for the 99-05 S2000 to work on an 06 you might have to source an older ECU, and replace the electric throttle with a cable. Then you'd also lose the VSA, too.

If there were FI coming for an 06 my bet would be the comptech supercharger being the only one that'll work "easily" on an '06.

The engine management issue will be resolved by Hondata as they will be developing a K-pro like daughterboard for the '06 S2000. They are currently working on a daughterboard for the '06 Civic Si, which has DBW as well. Once they have completed the daughterboard for the Si, they will use that daughterboard and tailor it to the '06 S2000.

There is no "cheap" after market ecu for drive by wire car. The s2k is no exception. You are in uncharted territory!
