I want em. I just didn't know I had em and wanted to make sure I wasn't screwing anything up since my UEGO isn't working.

Oh man, when I hit the rev-limiter, I shoot huge flames out the back and it sounds like a shotgun going off.

Usually its running rich and having no cat converter. Also if your tuned with an EMS, most tuners have ignition cut deaccel and ignition cut rev limiters so those 2 things blow flames out the back (cuts ignition instead of fuel).

Spark has to cut first at the rev limiter and then fuel and you'll get flames and very loud bangs.

In layman's terms - your engine uses spark from your spark plugs to ignite the fuel/air mixture. At your set redline, they both have to be shut off for when you let off the throttle and shift into another gear. When you have your car tuned, the tuner typically cuts the spark before cutting the fuel, so your car shuts off the spark when you start to shift, then puts out a little amount of fuel. Since there is no spark to ignite the fuel, it goes through the motor unburned, and outputted through your manifold, and out through the exhaust. The manifold/exhaust is hot - and that heat ignites that bit of unburned fuel, so it burns and turns into a flame - which is seen through your exhaust.

You can cut fuel before spark to alleviate this, but someone mentioned that it's not as safe. I don't know whether or not that that is true so I won't comment on it. If anyone knows this (or knows a way to switch settings on the fly - I assume with a laptop riding shotgun?), please feel free to respond
